And Victory Again!

Some of you might remember this post, where I declared victory over our electric bill by shaving 150 dollars off the total. This month we got our bill, and guess what?

Another 150 dollars gone!

We dropped from 500.00 two months ago to 200.00 this month. And that includes all the heaters we had running from time to time, as well as Spring Break week, when the kids were given rare full-access to the Playstations and televisions and DVD players.

The kids have really gotten into the act of saving money on the electric bill. They are sticklers for safety like I am, so anything that keeps the house safe and secure is a good deal, so far as they are concerned. So they have been vigilant about unplugging everything, about keeping heaters on low, and opting to bundle up instead of using heaters when they are comfortable doing so.

They have also started throwing open their curtains first thing in the morning, and with our tall windows, sunlight streams through and lights up the whole house. It's gorgeous...and it's free.

I haven't used my dryer in two months. So guess what? I'm going to move it out of here, make more room in the laundry area for other stuff, and put up a clothesline outside. I'm also going to put up a screen door in the back, so I can leave the doors open and let the air flow through from one entryway to another.

Yes, I'm already thinking of ways to save on air-conditioning...

This is so much fun!
